Volunteer Background Check Information-
MANDATORY!
PA law requires all volunteer coaches and asst coaches to have all background checks on file BEFORE coaching. These are required to be on file in the SRA offices and updated every 5 years. Please forward all completed clearances to: Nika Haase – NikaHaase@gmail.com
A total of 3 documents must be submitted (the 3rd document is either an FBI Fingerprint check or the Volunteer Disclosure Statement). Most people will only need the first 2 background checks (available at no cost for volunteers).
I’M COACHING, WHAT BACKGROUND CHECKS WILL I NEED?
If you’ve lived in PA for the past 10 years – 2 clearances are needed (PA Child and PA State Police)
IF the volunteer has lived in PA for the entirety of the past 10 years – two clearances (Child abuse clearance & PA State Police clearance). Both are free for volunteers. The 3rd document required is either your FBI fingerprints(only necessary if you have NOT lived in PA for the past 10 years) OR a completed disclosure form – found here: NS Basketball Volunteer Disclosure Statement
IF the volunteer has NOT lived in PA for the entirety of the past 10 years – all three clearances are needed: PA Childline (free), PA State Police (free) & FBI Fingerprints (approx $25).
