Come experience Travel Soccer with Swarthmore Soccer Club!
THE CLUB: SSC offers fun and affordable travel soccer on local fields for a reasonable cost. Our home fields are located in Swarthmore and Wallingford. This year, travel teams are being formed for all children with birth years 2016-2010. Our programs are perfect for the young multi-sport athlete as winter offerings and the spring season are optional and priced separately from the fall season. The Fee for Fall 2024 is $325 plus the cost of uniform.
TEAM STRUCTURE: Teams are coached and managed by volunteer parents, supplemented by professional trainers. In the late summer and fall, teams have twice weekly practices beginning mid-to-late August and continuing through early November. They play an 8-game schedule in the Central League against local travel soccer clubs. Each team will work with a professional trainer once per week for the fall season. Additionally, teams can elect to do a local tournament in the fall for no additional cost to the players.
Additionally, teams can elect to play in winter indoor league and the spring season of the Central League. Additional registration fees for winter and spring seasons do not exceed $275. In addition, players can elect to participate in a la carte professional training sessions offered by the club through The Player Project.
COACHES: IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN HELP COACH OR MANAGE A TEAM, please reach out. We are always looking to bring more volunteers into our club and many hands makes light work. We have soccer trainers and administrative support to make things easy and fun for coaches and managers.
UNIFORMS: Uniforms are required by all travel players and the cost is separate from registration. The kit consists of one black and one white jersey, a pair of black athletic shorts, and a pair of black soccer socks. Uniform ordering will occur after teams are selected.
THE FALL REGISTRATION FEE OF $325 WILL BE COLLECTED AT REGISTRATION. A player who choses not to join a SSC team will receive a full refund if notification of that decision is given before June 7th.

PLEASE VOLUNTEER: SSC runs primarily under the direction of volunteer coaches and team managers, many of whom stay with their teams for years. Coaching is a big job, and it is made much easier by having a team of coaches. If you can help, please make note on the registration form, even if you can’t attend every game or practice.
CODE OF CONDUCT: All players and coaches are required to adhere to the SRA Code of Conduct.
SRA IS A SAFE SPACE. We ask children to register for soccer under the designation that works best for them and are open to helping non-binary or other gendered athletes participate. Please do not hesitate to reach out if standard gender designations are in any way an impediment to your child’s registration.
Travel Soccer Refund Policy
- If a player is not invited to join a team or choses not to join a team, he/she will receive a full refund if notification of that decision is given before June 7th.
- Refunds, minus tryout fee and admin fee will be given if a player notifies SRA director in writing before July 1st that will not accept a position on the team.
- No full refunds will be provided after July 1st. Requests between July 1st and September 1st for partial refunds for good cause (e.g. injury, relocation) will be considered by the SRA Director on a case-by-case basis.
- After league play has begun in September, no refunds will be given for any reason.
