Discounted registration for coaches’ players

11.10.2025 UPDATE. Coaches’ registration has closed for all divisions. Thank you for your interest. We have signed up all the coaches we need for the 25/26 season, and thank everyone for volunteering the time and effort it takes to make the NS Hoops season possible.

The foundation of Nether-Swarthmore Hoops is made up of our volunteer coaches, most of whom are parents of players. This year, registration will open early for coaches and their players, along with a discounted registration fee. Registration – discounted and full – closes on November 1 at 11:59 PM.

In an effort to ensure that teams are as even as possible, no coach pairings are guaranteed until after evaluations and teams are made. We will make every effort to pair coaches with the preferred coaching partner as long as the pairing does not defeat the main goal of evenly matched teams in each division.

Many of our coaches have basketball experience, but we need help from anyone willing and available to be involved at practices and games – even if in a supporting role. The size of the league and the number of players will be limited without volunteers. The goal is to have two coaches for every team and NS Hoops works with the volunteer coaches to schedule the best night for weekly practices.

REGISTRATION FOR COACHES and their PLAYERS

The discount code for coaches is 30cd25 – Enter the code in the “Discount Code” field, which is in the “Additional Player Info” section of page 1 of the registration form. The discount will be applied on the Checkout screen (page 3).

PLEASE NOTE: If you sign up during this early registration period, you are committed to coaching a NS Hoops team this year, which includes obtaining and submitting the necessary background clearance documents.

COST: $145 with discount code.

CLEARANCES: Under Pennsylvania law, all volunteer coaches must complete specific background checks. You may not coach a practice or game until SRA has all your completed clearances on file.  For coaches who have lived in Pennsylvania for at least ten years, this is a fairly simple task that can be completed online.  For coaches who have not lived in Pennsylvania for ten years, the process involves getting fingerprinted. We will provide detailed instructions for all background checks. Clearances are generally valid for five years.  If you have already submitted clearances for past seasons, we will be in touch if they have expired.
