Nether-Swarthmore Hoops Elementary Division returns for 2023-2024 with league play for players in grades 2-5! The Elementary Division will play from the week of November 6th through the playoff tournament week of January 29-February 4. Seven regular season games are scheduled throughout the season, with at least one playoff game. No games or practices during the Thanksgiving holiday, Winter Break, and the Martin Luther King, Jr., holiday weekend.

Practices: Begin week of November 6th. Practice days for each team are determined by volunteer coaches.
Games: 7 regular season games, on the following weekends: 11/18-19, 12/2-3, 12/9-10, 12/16-17, 1/6-7, 1/20-21, 1/27-28.

EVALUATIONS SCHEDULE
At Swarthmore-Rutledge School Gym
Girls 2/3 – Monday, November 6, 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Boys 2/3 – Wednesday, November 8, 5:30-7:00 p.m.
Girls 4/5 – Wednesday, November 8, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Boys 4/5 – Thursday, November 9, 7:00-8:30 p.m.
Following evaluations, your player will be placed on a team and you will receive team and coach information as well as day/time/location of weekly practices for the team through Teamsnap. Practices will begin for all elementary teams the week of Monday, November 13th. Game and practice schedules will be communicated through Teamsnap.
GAME SCHEDULE
All games are expected to be held at SRS gym beginning the weekend of November 18-19. The tentative weekly game schedule is as follows (each team will receive a specific game schedule):
Girls 2/3 – Sunday games from 12:00-4:00 p.m.
Boys 2/3 – Sunday games from 12:00-4:00 p.m.
Girls 4/5 – Saturday games from 9:00-11:00 a.m.
Boys 4/5 – Saturday games from 12:00-4:00 p.m.
Elementary Hoops is run by parent coaches. We will open limited registration and then open up more teams/ spots as we have enough volunteers to run the program.
SECOND- AND THIRD-GRADERS
Second- and third-graders have one weekday practice and one weekend game each week. Players in the 2/3 division play 4v4 format to increase the number of touches on the ball and to encourage good positioning on the court.

REGISTRATION FEE: $160, opens Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. and will close Wednesday, November 1, 2023.
Boys 2/3 registration is filled based on the number of coaches currently signed up. More coaches are needed to add more players. Coaches/players and players can register on the waitlist (below).
FOURTH- AND FIFTH-GRADERS
Fourth- and fifth-graders have one weekday practice and one weekend game each week. Players in this division will play 5v5 full court games.
