Nether-Swarthmore Hoops: Elementary Division

Player Evaluations for Winter 2025-26:

• Boys 2/3: SRS, Sunday, 11/2, 1-3 PM
• Boys 4/5: SRS, Saturday, 11/8, 9-11 AM
• Boys 6/7: SHMS, Wednesday, 11/12, 5-7 PM
• Boys 8/9: SHMS, Wednesday, 11/12, 7-9 PM
• Girls 2/3: SRS, Sunday, 11/2, 3-5 PM
• Girls 4/5: CHANGE – SHHS, Wednesday, 11/5, 6-7:30 PM
• Girls 6-8: CHANGE – SHHS, Wednesday, 11/5, 7:30-9 PM

Nether-Swarthmore Hoops Elementary Divisions for 2025-26 are for female and non-binary players in grades 2-5 and male players in grades 2-5.  We welcome players of all skill and ability levels in every division. 

Girls 2/3 and Boys 2/3:

• Plays 4v4 to increase the number of touches on the ball and to encourage good positioning on the court.
• One conflict night per player honored when setting teams; please add this information to the registration form (do not add 2 nights).
• 1 weekly practice per week, beginning week of December 1.
• 6 regular season games on Sundays; 1 playoff game guaranteed on weekend.
• December 14/21, January 11/25, February 1/8.
• No games/practices will be held during WSSD Winter Break, the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, and Presidents’ Day holiday weekend.
• Playoff weekends February 21/22, February 28/March 1.

Girls 4/5 and Boys 4/5:

• Plays 5v5.
• One conflict night per player honored when setting teams; please add this information to the registration form (do not add 2 nights).
• 1 weekly practice per week, beginning week of December 1.
• 7 regular season games on Saturdays; 1 playoff game guaranteed on weekend.
• December 6/13/20, January 10/24/31, February 7.
• No games/practices will be held during WSSD Winter Break, the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend, and Presidents’ Day holiday weekend.
• Playoff weekends February 21/22, February 28/March 1.

EVALUATIONS: All players in grades 2-5 should attend evaluations which will be conducted by division commissioners and coaches. All registered players will be placed on a team; evaluations are designed to form teams that are equally balanced by skill and age. The schedule appears above. Following evaluations, you will receive your coach/practice/game assignment and information through TeamSnap.  

COACHES: NS Hoops is made possible by parent coaches.  Please sign up to help. Registration is discounted for coaches. Email eric@swarthmorerecreation.org or nika@swarthmorerecreation.org for a discount code to use at registration.

UNIFORM: Each team will be assigned a color and players will receive a NS Hoops t-shirt to serve as their uniform for the season.

GYM LOCATIONS: SRS and CADES Gym in Swarthmore; WES in Wallingford.

FAMILIES’ RESPONSIBILITIES: Non-coaching parents SHOULD EXPECT TO KEEP THE GAME BOOK OR WORK THE CLOCK ONE FOR ONE GAME DURING THE SEASON.

SCHOLARSHIPS/FINANCIAL AID: If your family needs some financial assistance in order to make it possible for your child to play, please fill out our scholarship request form.

REGISTRATION FEE: $175. Opens Monday, October 6th at 9:00 a.m. and closes on Saturday, November 1st at 11:59 p.m. NO LATE REGISTRATIONS!
