Policies for Travel Soccer
SSC teams compete primarily in the fall season.
Soccer team participation outside the fall season:
SSC teams may participate in other leagues and tournaments outside of the fall season if coaches, players, and parents elect to do so.
All expenses will be paid by the team and will not go through the SSC account.
SSC approved uniforms must be worn in all competitions. Additional shirt(s) may be purchased and worn by team members.
The entire team must be invited to participate, except in smaller sided tournaments. Guest players may be added to the roster according to tournament rules.
The coach must inform the parents of intended play as soon as possible.
Tryouts are held to evaluate the players. Contact the Commissioner or coach for additional information.
SSC endeavors to find a place for every interested player.
SSC will attempt to field as many teams at each age group as possible.
Need-based financial aid may be available to cover individual player’s fees.
Players will tryout and participate in their designated age group unless any of the following conditions exist:
An open position in an upper age group needs to be filled in order to field a team, after efforts have been made to recruit age appropriate players and the player is invited to move up by the coach of the older age group.
There is not an age appropriate SSC team.
U8 players may be rostered on a U9 team only if there are no U9 players for those positions. League restrictions may apply.
Within the rules above, coaches will have the final say as to selection of players.
Teams will be placed in divisions in which the players can thrive and be successful.
Coaches, players, and parents will be expected to abide by the SSC Travel Soccer Rules of Conduct.
U9, U10, U11, and U12 players must play at least 50% of game time, including tournaments and friendlies. SSC recommends that playing time be equal for all younger players. For U13 and older teams, players must play a minimum of 33% of game time, including tournaments and friendlies.
